Your next step in EO leadershipDear EO Leaders, As someone who has served in EO Leadership, you’ve already given so much to EO and helped shape our community in APAC. Your experience has made a lasting impact — and now, we’d love to invite you to bring that leadership to the APAC Regional Council. Ivanka Menken, EO Queensland, currently serves as the APAC Leadership Director. In her note below, she shares how the Path of Leadership has shaped her journey and why she encourages members to step forward and take on leadership roles in our region. Fellow Members, One of the greatest investments you can make in yourself, your business, and our community is expanding your leadership journey through EO’s Path of Leadership (POL). In 2011, I felt guilty about the time I spent on my leadership role in EO—but when I discussed it with my team, the answer was unanimous: “Please keep doing it, because it makes you a better boss and we get inspired every time you come back from a leadership event!” Since then, I’ve never looked back. I’ve built the business and my life by design—something I wouldn’t have been able to do without all the learnings I received through my Path of Leadership in EO. I learned to create systems to connect with my business remotely so I could validate results and keep my finger on the pulse while out of the office. I learned to be a more effective leader by keeping my team accountable and focused on our shared goals. To be honest, if I hadn’t gained these leadership skills along the way, I don’t think I would still be in EO right now—and I’m not even sure I would have a business that sustains my lifestyle. I wish for you to have the same (or even better!) experiences and learnings. That’s why I challenge you to take the next step on the Path of Leadership and apply for a role on the Regional Council, in one of the global portfolios, or as the glue of the region as an Expert or Lead.
